Competition pathway

Dancers progress through Beginner, Primary, Intermediate, Open and Championship grades. Our main Margate studio caters for every grade through to Championship level.

Major competitions

The highest level of competition is the World Championships ("Worlds"). There are also regional and national competitions, known as the Oireachtas.

Dance wear

Solo dresses are adorned with unique Celtic patterns and bright colours. Soft shoes ("ghillies") are worn for certain dances, while hard shoes produce the distinctive rhythm.
